Janessie Mena, DPT
Dr. Janessie Mena graduated from the University of South Florida with her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science with a Minor in Public Health in May 2014. She then returned to sunny south florida and graduated from the University of Miami in May 2018 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She has had over a year of independent clinical experience in an outpatient setting, working with a variety of patient populations from pediatrics to geriatrics to professional athletes. She is currently a Graston certified practitioner, and will soon be completing her certification in Blood Flow Restriction Training, as well as, becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Janessie is passionate about continuing to expand her knowledge about health, fitness, and the world of physical therapy. Upon the current certifications she’s expected to complete, she also wants to pursue a Manual Therapy specialization in the future. Janessie looks forward to widening her treatment scope and would like to become the “go-to” therapist for Dance Medicine and Women’s Health in South Florida. She believes that anything is achievable with a positive mindset and consistency, and she hopes to instill that same belief onto her patients. Janessie was a Zumba instructor for the University of Miami, and can’t help moving her hips whenever a good song plays. She enjoys rollerblading, going to the beach, and traveling to new places with her family and friends.
